Queen's last word: This letter from Queen Elizabeth II can only be opened in 208519.09.2022
Today, when the whole world is preparing to see off the British Queen on her last journey, a lot of interesting information appears on the Web – about her reign, about the people who have been with her all these decades, about the secrets that she kept …
More than thirty years ago, Her Majesty composed a mysterious handwritten message. Why is it “mysterious”? Because the descendants of the queen will be able to read it only in 2085.
Experts have long wondered what Elizabeth II could have written in this note.
Letter to the Future was designed in 1986 to celebrate the restoration of the Queen Victoria Building in Sydney. The British ruler addressed her message to the inhabitants of Australia and forbade opening it for the next 100 years.
The appeal is stored in a closed area of the historical building under the dome.
The building itself was erected in 1898 by architect George MacRae in honor of the Diamond Jubilee of the reign of Queen Victoria. In terms of its dimensions, the building, 190 meters long, occupies a whole block and is now given over to a modern shopping center.
