Six people died: tourists who conquered the volcano in Kamchatka are waiting for the help of rescuers for several days05.09.2022
This climb has been planned for a long time. According to preliminary data, the trip was organized by a travel company from Novosibirsk. The group was assembled from seven regions of Russia: Altai, Primorsky, Kamchatka, Novosibirsk and Vladimir regions and from Moscow.
Before departure, as expected, they registered, but with reservations: without the accompaniment of professional climbers from among the locals. Only a notification about the approximate route was sent to the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The fact that the route is extreme (even when the volcano is asleep, the weather there is unpredictable) did not bother the organizers.
And on September 3, one of the accompanying guides got in touch with emergency services. At that time, the group was at an altitude of 4158 meters. Five tourists broke loose and fell into the abyss. Another was unconscious (after he died), and one of the guides broke his leg.
According to preliminary data, tourists climbed the Klyuchevskaya Sopka in bundles of three people. One of those who escaped dragged two other tourists into the abyss. Following the first bunch, the second one broke.
