“Forbidden to speak Russian”: the daughter of a Russian woman killed by her German husband is not given to her grandmother25.07.2022
In February 2022, leaflets appeared in the small German town of Bremerhaven: “Ekaterina Baumann is missing.” By that time, she had not been in touch for several days, and her husband sounded the alarm. Caring local residents and volunteers joined the search for the girl, but there were no results. This story seemed strange to the police. Catherine’s husband Walter insisted – she just ran away, but her phone, money and documents were found at home.
Friends and relatives of Baumann did not accept this version either: they believed that the girl would never have abandoned her daughter, especially to her tyrant father. Yes, there have been problems in the relationship between Catherine and Walter for a long time.
Young people met during a vacation in Turkey and decided that they never want to leave again. At that time, Ekaterina still lived in St. Petersburg and studied at the university, but left everything and moved to Germany, where she soon got married.
