Spots in the sun: how Sasha Zvereva went to awareness through abortion and illegal substances23.07.2022
In 1999, 18-year-old MGIMO student Alexandra Zvereva successfully passed the audition: the dance project of producer Vadim Polyakov “Demo” was looking for a singer. The voice and manner of performance of young Alexandra met expectations, and after a few months the whole country heard hits in her performance.
“The Sun in Hands” and “2000 Years”, which became Zvereva’s main show business achievements, still nostalgically warm the hearts of those whose puberty and youth fell on zero. Sasha became popular and recognizable: fashionistas copied her haircut and looked for the same acid outfits in the clothing markets.
Only years later, Zvereva, who had already seriously changed, spoke frankly about the drama that played out in her life to the sound of copper pipes. She admitted that on the eve of the fateful casting in “Demo” she experienced a painful break with her lover – the young man left for Australia. An interesting new job and the charismatic personality of producer Polyakov helped her to distract herself and discover a new world, though not without side effects: close communication between the manager and the artist led to the girl’s pregnancy. Polyakov convinced Sasha to get rid of the child, arguing that she would still have children, young, but the chance to become popular can be lost forever.
