Enterobiasis in children: how to rid the child's body of pinworms27.06.2022
Prevention of infection with pinworms in both children and adults is the elementary rules of hygiene: washing hands and children’s toys, regularly changing bed linen and other house cleaning activities. And of course – regular tests for enterobiasis.
Symptoms of enterobiasis in children
The very first and most obvious symptom of enterobiasis in children is severe itching in the pope. And if an adult person tries to behave under such circumstances, if possible, decently and imperceptibly, then the baby, of course, will desperately scratch where it itches.
Where does itching come from? Alas, the circumstances, frankly, are not pleasant: the fact is that the female pinworm, ready for breeding, lays eggs (neither more nor less – about 10 thousand pieces!) On a fold of skin near the anus. And not just postpones, but also sprays out a special isovaleric acid, which causes severe itching.
After the fertilized female pinworm lays new eggs (she does this exactly at the “exit” solely because the eggs need oxygen to survive), she dies. But, alas, about 10 thousand new parasites are ready for a new cycle of life.
