Witness from Fryazino: how one photo became a phenomenon and ruined the life of a simple electrician25.06.2022
It was rumored that even the ubiquitous intelligence services became interested in the unprecedented popularity of the meme man, confident that some mysterious purpose was behind the growing number of photographs. Journalists were bursting at his door, federal channels promised fabulous fees for participating in programs, but they always came across a harsh refusal.
In April 2008, Aram Gabrelyanov mentioned in the Kommersant newspaper that the man was even officially offered to become the face of an advertising campaign on the Internet, but, like everyone else, they got a turn from the gate. However, his consent was not required – so, references to him appeared on the air of programs, and even … in computer games that offered the witness to choose a more suitable outfit.
The witness flashed in the film “Hottabych”, released in August 2006, got into the screensaver of the program on “MTV Russia” and even entered the book “Anthology of Runet Folklore” in 2007.
